Y‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌ou are a new curriculum specialist in a school district and just left a meeting with your Superintendent and Director of Curriculum (aka Your Bosses) and they have informed you that the professional development time for face-to-face meetings for instructional coaches has been greatly reduced and they want you to explore developing a new web-based way of delivering training for these practitioners. You currently have 20 instructional coaches that work under your supervision and they have the task of assisting teachers with implementing the new Marzano Framework for Effective Instruction in their classrooms. Their jobs are to observe teachers and provide feedback on their implementation of the model with the focus helping teachers improve their instruction aligned to the components of the model. The district is looking to adopt this model for teacher evaluation next year so the first year the focus is for you to help your instructional coaches help the teachers. You have decided that the best way to do this is to design a series of two instructional screencast videos for the coaches to view that will help them look for evidence of the key components of the model when they observe teachers in the classroom. In analyzing this problem you decided that the best way to do this is to develop screen-casts that focus on the guiding questions of the Mariano model (aka Chapters in the text). For presenting the content you have decided to use a classroom strategy called a T-chart throughout your screen cast. Using this strategy you discuss items that can be seen in the environment (looks like) and items that can be heard through teacher and/or student communication (sounds like). An example of what a a slide might look like for the screen cast is listed below. For this project you are to develop a screen cast that focuses upon the following guiding questions related to the Marzano model: What will I do to establish and communicate learning goals, track student progress and celebrate success? What will I do to help students effectively interact with new knowledge? What will I do to help students generate and test hypotheses about new knowledge? Your screen cast should include the following: A script of your Screen cast containing all dialogue. A template for writing this script can be downloaded here. A brief overall summary of the Marzipan model A discussion of at least three observations (looks likes) and three pieces of communication evidence (sounds likes) for each of the three guiding questions (for example-a slide like the example above for each question). At least one graphic/photo and presentation format that aligns to the “Guidelines for Effective Power Points” outlined in the Slide Share presentation found here Audio that is clear, well recorded and easy to understand with minimal background noise Screen cast is not longer than 3 minutes in length and contains a script of spoken content For the project your should submit the following: Script of your Screen cast containing all dialogue.
