What piques your curiosity MOST about communication, media, and society? Dive in, explore, and report back to us!
You and/or your team (you may work alone or can work in a group) will prepare either a research paper or an alternative creative research project (such as a piece of historical fiction, a short film, play, painting, blog, vlog, etc.) on a topic related to communication, media, and society. The project can pertain to anywhere in the world, any country, any culture so long as it explores some aspect of the relationships between communication, media, and society (broadly interpreted) and the importance of these relationships for making sense of the world around us, and so long as it incorporates concepts and themes from the course. You will also prepare a 5-8min (8-12min for teams) presentation of your project to present to the class so that we can all learn about the fascinating topic you spent so much valuable time researching.
