I need a literary research paper on the novel Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut using the following thesis:

In Slaughterhouse 5, Kurt Vonnegut blends his own experiences during World War II into a genre-bending novel that highlights the damaging effects of war on the mental health of those who endure it.

The assignment information follows here. This is the edition of the book I’m using:
Vonnegut, Kurt. Slaughterhouse-Five. Edited by Dell Publishing Company, Dell, 1991.

RESEARCH ASSIGNMENT
Topic: * Choose and narrow down the topic. Any topic related to a work of literature
will be considered other than how Edgar Allan Poe’s life is reflected in his
work; however, the topic must be approved. Do not change your topic without
discussing the change with me. The topic must be approved by Wednesday,
February 23.
Keep all comments and notes I make regarding the research topic.
Research paper: The body of the paper must be ten-13 pages in length. This excludes
the outline, title page and appended matter, including “Notes”
(endnotes). Although it may be informative, the primary purpose of the paper is
persuasive. Therefore, you should clearly state your position regarding the short
story, poem, play, novel or film and support that position with your research. It is
expected that the information presented will demonstrate your ability to evaluate
a literary work and your knowledge of literary terms and methods of analysis
discussed in class.
The outline should be a topic outline. It should appear after the title page and
must include your thesis statement. (Sample format is on the class web site.)
The paper should include a one-to-two-page biography of the author to help the
reader understand the social, historical, and political context of the period in
which the work was written.
The body of the paper must include a minimum of six citations from secondary
sources—at three of those should be from two different journals, newspapers or
periodicals and three citations from books other than the original or primary
source. In addition, the essay should include at least six quotations. (There
should be a minimum of 12 citations in total.) The short story, poem, play, novel
or film you choose is your primary source and presumably will be cited in your
paper.
Endnotes are only to be used to provide supplemental information. Do
not use footnotes.
The Works Cited must indicate that you have used a minimum of seven sources
for your research. Your sources should include at least three journal or periodical
articles. Any source material from the Internet must be approved prior to
use. The work being discussed is your primary source and you should consult at
least six other sources. Wikipedia is not an acceptable source.
The final paper should include all components. The research paper must
include an outline, body and Works Cited. The Research Paper Checklist
should also be completed and submitted.
Format: See the sample MLA research paper in Literature: Human Experience,
pages 63-70, the sample MLA research paper in A Writer Reference or go to
Purdue University’s Online Writing Lab for general questions regarding format of
the paper or citations. It must be typed and double spaced using a 12 point
Times New Roman or Arial font.
A title page is not necessary, but the first page of the paper should follow MLA
style and include your name, class, Dr. Roliston, and the date in the upper left
corner of the page. The title should be centered in the middle of the page, and
the pages must include MLA headers.

The Works Cited page (page 70 in Literature: Human Experience) includes every
reference cited in the body of the paper. It should not include a source if it is not
cited in the paper. Be certain to use the MLA 9th edition (2021) documentation
style.
