For this Directed Writing, see the articles posted about several of the Hitchcock or other directors films and write a critique of the authors analysis. For example, if you read The Hollywood Reporter article called North by Northwest, which was the original review of the movie when it was released, argue whether or not the authors critique is still valuable today. Do you agree with his assessment? What has changed in the intervening years that may make his review obsolete? Or is it still relevant today? Conversely, if you decide to write about Rear Window, you may choose from the reviews listed here as well to answer the same questions. Note that one of the reviews of Rear Window is written by an Irish native, and spellings and use of mechanics (i.e. italics, etc.) is different from ours. If you are to use that review, abide by the spellings and punctuation in that article.
