Power Point PSA Instruction Due Week 7
The assignment this week will be due in week seven. You may submit it anytime before week 7, but you must follow the directions in week 7 to do so, and it is submitted in week 7 drop box and upload to the discussion post.
You are to create a PSA (public service announcement) using power-point to create a public message that the community may use in preparing for a natural disaster, such as an earthquake, hurricane, tornado, or how to prepare, be aware, or plan for a mass shooting, terrorism, or other issues that may be important in the community in which you live. Recently there has been devastation caused by hurricanes in Puerto Rico, Texas, and Florida, and several mass shootings. There are times in which a community should prepare for, or beware of, make plans for threats to life. Example, natural disasters should have emergency equipment on hand, for instances like shooters, plan what would you do in that instance, if it were a movie theater, or outdoor concert, or what if like what happens in France, a terrorist running down pedestrians and blowing up a cafe. It is true you cannot prepare for everything, but, we can put emergency items together, or we can plan our escape route in a movie theater, church or other building. Think about what affects you and your community and put a power-point together that you would like to see authorities do for you to teach you what to do in the event of the crisis at hand.
As the course outline describes, your power point must be at least three slides, up to seven slides (plus a title and reference page) to get your message across. Remember, this PSA can save lives! Please see the rubric for this challenging assignment.
