This is a series of activities that will
lead to a discursive, exploratory, yet well-argued essay in which you will
investigate and speculate on one aspect of Walt Disney World while making a
larger point about contemporary American culture or life. Your essay should
expand outward from the parks’ built environment: a thorough reading of a
building, element, or material arrangement.
What is something specific in the built
environment of Disney World that we (as people studying architecture and people
generally) should be paying attention to, because of a perspective it offers us
about the actual world today?
