Begin final project: Considering the readings we have considered this semester and what you’ve learned about Romanticism, revise the syllabus by removing at least one text and adding at least one text. Beyond the question of enjoyment, i.e. what you did or did not like reading, you should consider how a particular text shapes our understanding of Romanticism, what happens to our understanding if we remove that text, and what might be gained if we add in a different text. The text you add to the syllabus need not be from the Romantic era, and it can be of any genre or medium. In addition to providing the text, you must include a critical essay of 1200-1500 words that explains your decision. The essay should include both careful, close analysis of the texts you’ve added and removed as well as a broader discussion of Romanticism a field of knowledge.
