Before you begin your literature search, write a paragraph telling what you already know about your topic. Next write a paragraph explaining what you would like to find out as a result of your study. If it is helpful, you can think of this activity as the “K” and “W” of a KWL chart (what I know and what I want to know). Writing these ideas will help focus your thinking before your literature search.
