Please submit one researched essay that addresses some form of scientific/nature research or inquiry. Your essay can be framed as either journalistic reportage or personal narrative (or somewhere in between), just make sure you consider the most effective components of each.
Reportage: layer scene with exposition; strive for primary sources and multiple viewpoints.
Narrative: connect the singular to the bigger picture; address both inner and outer journey.
Your essay might intertwine narrative and research seamlessly throughout or it might offer snippets of each that progress in separately, yet simultaneously. The caveat is that your essay must provide in-text citations, which you will not find in the exemplars provided.
