Write out an essay that is examining theology of the Suni-Shia Split. How the question of political succession ” Who is the rightful sucessor of the Prophet Muhammed?” leads to theological differences that resulted in the Islamic schism. The split was formerly recognized/official at the Battle of Karbala. The theological differences of the two groups is explained and how “religious differences” are manifested in political and cultural rivalries that are eventful to the historical progression of what we see as Islam is today.
