There are two main narrative points of view possible in fiction, the first-person subjective/internal, and the third-person objective/external (and the latter has a spectrum from omniscient to partial/preferential). Taking the two narratives (the third-person account of events and Esther’s own account) found in Dickens’s Bleak House, discuss how you think the narrative POV works to shape the impact of the novel and the relationship the reader has to the characters and their actions and interactions.
