Case Study:Tara is 19. She is the daughter of a solicitor and a surgeon and has one younger sibling, Ella. Both Tara and Ella were raised by several different babysitters who lived in their family home, as their parents would often be home late at night or early morning. Tara is now in her first year of law. Before starting college, Tara isolated herself from her friends as COVID19 took a big impact on her mental health, she stopped going out to meet her friends and spent all of time in her room or with her sister Ella. She was also in a long-term relationship for 3 years, since starting college the relationship is now over and she has become very withdrawn and paranoid. At times she finds it difficult to get up in the mornings to attend lectures. With not attending lectures Tara feels she is falling behind in the course and is struggling to focus to catch up. Her parents can be very hard on her and have developed a ‘tough love’ strategy.
