Here’s what I want you to do: Read chapters 6, 7, and 8 (pages 126-197). These chapters deal with the implications of the research that Wright shares in the first 5 chapters of the book.
What are your thoughts regarding this work by Wright? Also, respond to these questions:
1. Why was acknowledging “Jesus as Lord” such a risk for first century persons living within the Roman Empire?
2. What is Wright’s understanding of the resurrection of Jesus and its significance?
3. From page 193: “As C. S. Lewis said in a famous lecture, next to the sacrament itself your Christian neighbor is the holiest object ever presented to your sight, because in him or her the living Christ is truly present.” If we take this idea seriously how would it affect how we view the world and others?
