HSPP work involves working with human beings who are imperfect and sometimes involved in messy situations. Knowing how to apply a helping relationship, which often involves focusing on improved service user functioning and engaging in cultural humilitywhere curiosity and a learner approach is employedcan lay the groundwork for open, receptive communications. Additionally, navigating human relations, being informed, and having a plan for addressing the various biases that present themselves and the vast array of power dynamics encountered can be as important to an HSPP to handle as a lawyer knowing all the different laws and policies that dictate their work.
In this Discussion, you will describe and explain how to realize the helping relationship, apply cultural humility, recognize biases, address oppression, and navigate power imbalances in the Capstone Case Study.

Describe how you will use communication to demonstrate cultural humility when working with the family in this case.
