• The paper will be 6-8 pages (8+ pages including cover page and references) (I will do the cover page myself, but please send me your references used in APA 7th edition)
• The following minimum resources are required and need to be referenced through in-text or direct citations
◦ 4 books or journal articles
◦ 2 websites
◦ any visual images you feel are relevant to the culture (images will increase page count)
• The paper should include:
◦ an introduction
◦ a description of the historical context (background information regarding the music, instruments. culture, etc.)
◦ provide examples and discuss
▪ cultural significance (unique aspects of the culture, location, religions, society, government, etc.)
▪ give rich music descriptions (performers, musical texture, instrumentation, texts, form, and style, etc.)
◦ a conclusion
**Audio examples or visual images may be used in the paper in order to help describe the culture of study. When referring to audio examples or images in formal writing, it is expected to briefly describe them.
