Part 1:
Description of Assessment Task and Purpose:
This element of assessment is worth 10% and should be 1,500 words (+/- 10%).
Your proposal should show to your supervisor that you have:
1. Identified a suitable research problem to be investigated.
2. Demonstrate through the literature that it is a problem, worthy of investigation
3. Able to be completed within the time frame and organisational and ethical parameters.
4. Considered appropriate methods within your research paradigm.

Part 2:
Description of Assessment Task and Purpose:
This element of assessment is worth 10% and should be 1,500 words (+/- 10%).
You are required to submit a 1,500-word reflection on own research practice on your experience of working on your project.
The purpose of this assessment is to assess your ability to estimate project parameters (including the required resources and constraints) to achieve project objectives, and to consider relevant theories and literature within the context of a real-life research project.
The key question you must address in your essay is:

What did you learn about managing a research project from this experience?
Your essay should include consideration of how you managed your project to achieve its objectives, and your reflections (or lessons) for how to undertake a research project more effectively in the future as a result of your experience on your project. What further professionals development activities could you undertake to enhance your research led practice?
Your reflection will be underpinned by the project proposal and your final submission. The project proposal and final submission are submitted as part of your portfolio and should be referred to as evidence to support your discussion in your reflective essay. .
The word count includes everything in the main body of the text (including headings, tables, citations, quotes etc). It does not include your reference list or appendices. The word count for your reflective essay should be clearly stated.
Formative Submission Points throughout the Stages
To support your learning, you can submit draft submissions usually at the end of the last week of each stage.
These drafts are chance for you to gain some feedback from your supervisor prior to writing the full project report. The word count is a different number of words per formative submission as each deal with a different aspect of the project.
Your supervisor will provide formative feedback and guidance within seven days of your submission. You should also make arrangements to meet with your supervisor to discuss their formative feedback after received.
You should use this feedback to improve your final submission. As per academic regulations, this should not be a full draft of your report.
