In this lab, we are researching child abuse.
Step 1- Using the internet, find 2 examples of cases where adults were prosecuted for physically abusing a child. How was the case reported? What evidence was important in the investigation? When does punishment become abuse?
Step 2 – Differentiate between preferential and situational child molesters. Find a case involving sexual abuse of a child and determine if the offender was a preferential molester or situational.
Step 3- Munchausen’s by Proxy – what is this? Is it a crime or mental illness? Find a case where a caregiver was guilty of child abuse due to Munchausen’s.
