Research) Evaluation Proposal: (15-30 pgs.) Find an organization (this can be where you work) in which a program may be evaluated. This project will require you to have conversations with an actual project manager to understand the detailed operations and resources of the program. Be sure to identify if your proposal is:
• Formative: tests the program while it is still going on and can be changed in mid-course, or
• Summative: measures the effects of the project after it is finished.
Any program evaluation begins with an understanding of the problem the program is trying to solve. This means that you must understand the research into the problem and its causes, what works and what does not work to decrease the problem. Thus, your proposal must have a literature review.
An evaluation’s objective is to systematically collect and analyze data about the program’s implementation, activities and objectives, monitor progress, and to communicate results to the program constituents, stakeholders, and/or community.
