Instructions
The Final Project and the other interview assignments
require you to interview the director of an early childhood
program. You will use the guiding questions and categories of
information below to guide your interview. This assignment will be
the final installment of your final project. Incorporate the feedback
given on your first three assignments and then add this final installment to
it.
In this final assignment, you will describe the director you
interviewed, summarize their responses to the guiding questions in the first
three assignments, compare and contrast those responses to the information you
learned in the course, using your textbook as the primary reference, and
include the director’s responses to the guiding questions in this assignment.
You will then provide a concluding paragraph and a reflection as described
below.
Guiding questions for Final Project.
Describe
their professional journey to becoming a director. Did they have a mentor?
What is the most important lesson they have learned in their journey to
this point? If they had it to do over again, what would they do
differently? What advice would they give to individuals whose goal is to
be the Director of a program? (Course Learning Objective 13)
What
knowledge and skills have contributed most to their success or been the
biggest challenges? Strive to gain insights into his/her
competencies and personal characteristics and compare and contrast them to
those listed in the textbook. (Course Learning Objective 13)
Conclusion: Provide a concluding paragraph
summarizing your overall impressions of the interview.
Reflection: Answer the following questions in your
reflection:
Were
their responses to your questions what you expected or were there some
responses that were surprises?
What
is your current level of interest in being a director at some point in
your career? Why or why not would you like to be a director?
How
might you use the information you learned from this project in your career
path?
Requirements for this assignment include:
The
final project must be a minimum of eight pages long.
All
assignments must be formatted using APA style (running
head, page numbers, double spaced, 12 pt. font, one-inch margins all
around, proper in-text citation and reference formatting, and a cover page
and reference page).
Your
assignments must include in-text citations for, at
minimum, your textbook.
