Discuss on Advocacy Paper for Professional Athletes with Mental Health Diagnosis/ConcernsAll students are required to submit a 4-page advocacy paper (NOT including cover page,
abstract, or references page) on a specific group (in my case professional athletes) served by individuals within the
helping professions. Students should choose an advocacy focus that they feel strongly
about and complete a paper that sensitizes the reader to the challenges faced by the group,
as well as how a professional in the counseling profession can serve as an advocate. The
paper must be written in APA style (i.e., double spaced, proper headings and citations,
etc.) and have a minimum of 5 references. In this paper, students are expected to include
an introduction, review of relevant literature, implications for counselors, advocacy plan,
conclusion, and references.
