Directions: In Kanopy, you will watch the documentary (documentaries ONLY). You can pick your own documentary; however, it needs to be from Kanopy. No exceptions. Or you can choose from my list of topics below. You will watch the film (maybe multiple times), and analyze at least FOUR film rhetorical and persuasive strategies (such as logos, ethos, and pathos) employed by the filmmaker in the construction of the film′s argument (see list of the basic film elements to analyze). Write an analysis over the documentary. Along with an introduction and a conclusion, each film element should be analyzed in its own body paragraph. Review the outline/breakdown in Essay 2 module. Haven′t created a Kanopy account? How do the specific cinematic elements of the film support the message or point the director is making, and do these specific film elements make the documentary compelling?
