PART A – Report:
(Approximately 3 pages – Note: For some of the following questions, you may need to include in-text citations, which would also mean you need a formal references or works cited page).
1. Establish the objectives of the survey
– What do you want to learn?
2. Choose a method of obtaining survey data. i.e. online, interview, door-to-door, etc.
– Discuss why such a method was selected to obtain the survey data.
– Discuss and draw the mechanism of conducting the survey?
– Discuss how questions are relevant to support research objectives
– Determine the technique used to measure the attitude (see appendix I) and why?
– Discuss why such a technique been selected
– Describe how to compute scale values
4. If applicable, use techniques like funnel and/or filter to avoid order bias
5. Sampling Designs
– Determine your target population
– Determine your population element
– How will you choose your sample? – Probability sampling – Non-probability sampling (list the basis)
– How many people should we interview (volume)?
PART B – Questionnaire:
(Approximately 2 pages: 1 page for the cover/ information letter, 1 page for the questionnaire)
1. The first page includes a cover letter (information letter highlighting the purpose/intentions of the survey for your participants
– why do you need their participation; background on the survey topic; what the data will be used for and its intentions etc.).
2. The following pages include questions grouped in categorical labels.
3. Other than the responded information questions, you are required to develop 15-20 questions.
