Read through those and choose one that you would like to use for your journal. So this means that at the end of each block, you will have 3 documents in the journal that you submit (one for each chapter). For each document, you should answer the following questions as applicable, as part of your analysis: 1. Historical comprehension. Summarize the source. This should be a comprehensive summary. Who are the characters? What is the sequence of events? Are there causes and/or outcomes? 2. Author′s perspective. Who is the author or creator of the source (it′s not The American Yawp)? Does he/she reflect any motives or biases? What about the veracity of other eyewitnesses? 3. Connect this source to the larger historical context. What′s going on in the world at the time? For example, if you were analyzing the letters from Abigail Adams to her husband John, then the larger historical context would be the successful Revolutionary War and the creation of a new government and constitution. How were these letters relevant to our understanding of the framing of this government and the role of women?
