The role of power and authority are explored and questioned to some degree in all of the works we have read this term. With a focus on one or two plays, discuss how the play deals with questions of authority where does authority/power lie? Is this authority just? Or is it abusive? Every play we have read deals with this in one way or another, from The Second Shepherds Play to Tis Pity Shes a Whore. And, of course, the Masque of Queens celebrates power explicitly.
