* DB 6: (Haft page) There are several populations who experience unique mental health concerns related to a dimension of diversity (examples: Active Military/Veterans, Age (youth, adults, aging population), Gender (male, female, non-binary, transgender), BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, & People of Color), Immigrants, Refugees, LGBTQ+, Religion, etc).
STEP 1: Choose a dimension of diversity that interests you, preferably one you don’t know much about.
STEP 2: Using the CWI Library (https://cwi.edu/current-students/library) and other appropriate sources, find information/statistics that explore mental health issues related to the dimension of diversity you chose in step 1.
STEP 3: Using the information you found, educate your classmates on this dimension of diversity and the mental health challenges experienced by this group. What are some unique things you discovered? What are some things social workers may need to be aware of when working with this population?
STEP 4: Cite your sources!
