Once you have identified the cultural landscape of the family members you interviewed, it is time to answer the questions for yourself. Be honest and thorough in answering the questions. After this, compare your answers with those of your interviewees. The premise of this assignment is that we are all cultural hybrids—all of us are composed of different influences that make us who we are. In some ways we are similar to our families –in values and tastes—and in other ways we differ, and are similar to other influences. How does this hold true for you? This is the topic of the second paper, also to be between 6 and 8 pages in length. Try to align the themes of your cultural landscape with those of the previous narrative.
