Write a Personal Statement (also known as an admissions essay or letter of intent). If you are applying to a PhD program, the
Personal Statement must be tailored to a particular area of psychology and to particular faculty members with whom you’d
like to work. If you are applying to a professional school or to a Master’s program, the Personal Statement can be more
generic. Your personal statement should include most, but not necessarily all, of the following elements, depending upon how
you prioritize these elements and depending upon space limitations.
