Lastly, consider how the negative encounter could be improved using the techniques discussed in these two chapters. Develop this journal reflection based on the following format. Each section below should be at least one paragraph, and the entire paper should be a full page (not counting a title page or reference page):

Descriiption (paragraph 1): Put your small group experience into context by describing the encounter. Be descriiptive. Do not include vocabulary in this paragraph – just set up the context for the conversation and list three factors that made the encounter positive and three factors that made the encounter negative.
Analysis (paragraph 2): What course concepts (vocabulary words from Chapters 11 and 12) help you in understanding why the factors you listed in paragraph 1 were either positive or negative? How do the concepts apply or relate to small group communication? What does it mean to make good choices and communicate well within a small group?
Conclusion/Learning (paragraph 3): What did you learn about yourself and your small group attitudes and skills?How did the concepts and techniques explored in Chapter 11 help you during your small group project for our class? What steps will you take in the future to improve the negative encounters you described in paragraph 1 using the techniques discussed in Chapter 11?

Each entry will be a minimum of one typed page in length
Each entry must include at least 3 vocabulary words/concepts from Chapter 11; underline or boldface these words/concepts, and include a definition that supports your analysis.

Paper format: 1-inch margin, double-space, 12-point Times Roman font, adhere to indents and APA style

Entry addresses small group concepts in a focused manner, using all course concepts accurately. Course concepts are clearly woven into the writing.
Entry shows reflective thought and judgment about self in great depth and detail.
Appearance, spelling, grammar, and organization of the work are college-level with no errors.
“B” journal – Above expectations (8 points)

Entry uses most course concepts accurately. Course concepts are adequately included into the writing.
Entry shows some reflective thought and judgment about self, but may lack depth of thought.
Appearance, spelling, grammar, and organization of the work are college-level; may contain a few errors
“C” journal – Meets expectations. (7 points)

Experience-based entries show limited evidence of reflective thought or judgment about self on most entries.
Course concepts are accurately referenced but not elaborated upon.
Needed further proofreading upon submission.
“D” and “F” journals – Below expectations (6 points and below)

Routine, unreflective discussion of experiences.
Use of course concepts is in accurate
Appearance, spelling, grammar, and/or organization impede understanding of the work.
