This topic comes under the subject geographies of childhood and youth. My topic is the bedroom. ( Please see the topic section for the question) A ‘creative’ piece of assessed work in this context refers to students using non-traditional methods to communicate their understanding of ideas, theories, concepts, and debates. This means not using text-based PowerPoint slides for example and moving towards ways of thinking which make use of imagery, photography, music, film, objects, poetry, sculpture etc. Your artefact could mean you display and discuss some photographs you have taken, design a model of a particular space or place i.e. a bedroom or a school, could show a short film you have made, or allow the audience to listen to a song you have written, or view an installation you have made. You might think about using the classroom presentation space to stage performance, read a poem, or conduct a monologue.
