I would like for each of you to have an experimental opportunity to share what you’ve learned in the course content around evidence based programs to what is available in the Greater New Orleans area. You are to find a local agency that has an evidence based program that provides services to either children, youth, or families and create a PowerPoint presentation providing the following information:
First Part:
1. The purpose/mission of the agency
2. How many programs the agency offers and identify which programs are Evidence-Based programs (please pay close attention to this, you will miss points if you have not delineated what EBP is)
3. How many social workers are on staff? What positions do social workers hold within the agency?
Second Part:
Social Worker Highlight – you must interview a social worker employed by the agency and ask the following questions:
1. Why did you choose to become a social worker?
2. What is it like working for an agency that focuses on social needs related to children, youth, and families?
3. What policy would they create or modify to help the individuals or mission of the organization?
4. What advice do they have for any person wanting to become a social worker?
5. What evidence based practices and trauma informed methods are used in the programs offered by the agency they work for?
