PART ONE.: Think back on your readings and videos this week. We explored what is data (broadly)? What distinguishes big data from other types of data? How has this changed the who and how of the scientists who investigate “big data”? Has this changed the need for domain expertise, how and why? How might the gender or race/ethnicity of the data scientist change what is analyzed or shown?
PART TWO: What do you think about how Data Scientist describe what they do? Does it make sense? Does it sound interesting? Would you want to spend your time doing such an activity? How does data scientist differ from Social Scientists? From computer scientists? What are their goals? Other thoughts?
