District Project Making a Collage General Information: 1-Any support may be used. 2- Any media is acceptable; mixed media is acceptable 3- You may have a theme ; for example: my life, my interests, the strangest dream I ever had, the best day ever…what if…, my crazy family, what a vacation…, nature is… 4- Your work should be neat and finished; no tape, glued down firmly 5- Must show an understanding of the Elements of Art 6- Must show an understanding of the Principles of design 7- Must show an understanding of the media. 8- Must include an outline explaining your finished design; see outline layout attached. * The elements and principles of design should be prevalent in your finished work; refer to chapter four and five. Analyze your work in terms of those elements and principles used. Discuss which elements and principles does your work include and are they successfully working together? Think about over all presentation and aesthetics. Below are things we discussed, in the book and the power point lecture, when studying line. If you use line as an element, you should include any of this information used in your work. Ask yourself questions. Consult your text book. actual & Implied- Is your line either of these? contour/outline- Or these? line direction, movement; hatching, cross-hatching, stippling- What about line direction and the mood it sets for the viewer? Did you use a line technique? 1) You will find information from the power point (below) on the other elements (below); look at the other elements and ask yourself questions about what you used and include it in your outline. There are examples of other artists work attached below. Regarding the principles of design; refer to chapter five in your book and the powerpoint for chapter five.
