The moral and ethical dilemmas faced by health care professionals in constructing “client oriented approaches” to health service delivery in light of affirmative action and claims of unequal treatment. ISBN: 978-1-284-03679-4 – Students will represent the plaintiff and the defendant in an assigned case and conduct outside research on their assigned case. After this research is completed, students should submit a typed report of the case. The report must be 2-3 pages in length and should follow the following format: • Case citation o A case citation describes the identity of the parties in the case, the text in which the case can be found, and the year in which the case was decided. • Facts o These should be summarized in clear, concise, chronological statements and be numerically ordered. Only the major facts, important to the issues in the case, should be included. • Issue o Students should phrase the issue of the case in the form of one or two brief statements (e.g., the issue is whether or not a woman’s right to privacy allows her to have an abortion). • Holding o The court’s ruling based on the facts, issues, and applicable laws pertaining to the case. • Reason o The rationale behind how the court arrived at its decision based on the facts, issues, and relevant laws surrounding the case.
