Purpose: This assignment ties directly to three of our course learning objectives: apply the theories learned to oneself as an employee and to real-world organizational problems or issues, describe theories and effective practices in communication, decision making, and managing conflict at work and develop a self-awareness and understanding of one’s values and ethics, emotions, and cultural mindset as they relate to work. In addition, this project gives you practice in two important skills: critical thinking and writing effectively. You should be able to clearly explain the issues from the case and articulate your answers to the given questions using your knowledge of organizational behavior. You are required to use at least three resources to supplement your answers to the questions. These resources do not include the case study itself. These can be class readings or articles that you find on your own, but at least two resources must be academic in nature (e.g., book chapters, journal articles, academically inclined magazine articles like Harvard Business Review or Forbes). My suggested structure for this short paper is as follows: introduction paragraph, one body paragraph for each case question (3 total), conclusion paragraph. Case Study 3 is an ethical dilemma, so you will be using the information of the case to make the best possible decisions to the following questions. Remember to use class readings or supplemental articles to help justify your choices: 1. Should Gregson speak to Dianne Reilly about the position? What ethical factors are involved in this decision? 2. If he does speak with her about the position, should he approach a conversation about her possible health issues? 3. If the worst should happen and her health is impacted by taking the position, how should Gregson explain his decision?
