I wrote a project on homelessness and i was asked to apply to the brysons tens principles following interconnected leadership roles or tasks if stratetegic planning and implementation are to be effective, the ten priciples to link is understanding the context, understanding the people involved, including oneself, sponsoring process, championing the process, facilitating the process, fosteing collective leadership, using dialogue and deliberation to create a meaningful process,clarify mandates,articulate mission,identify strategic issues develop effective strategies and possibly develop a vision of success, making and implementing policy decisions, enforcing rules, settling disputes and managing residual conflicts, putting it all togeter and preparing for ongoing strategic change. the recommended book is strategic planning for public and non profit organizations by john m Bryson chapter 354 fifth edition
