ASSESSMENT
This assignment will be graded on the attached rubric, which is copied below for easy reference. Though this was covered in class, and the rubric outlines the measure for each score, the two criteria are described again following the table. Please be sure to read and understand these criteria by which your efforts will be measured!
UNDERSTANDING
Your submission will be used to assess how well you understood the article/video attached to this assignment. For your first paragraph you should focus on restating the key concept/idea as presented in the article/video being reviewed. Some points will be given if the general theme or concept is mentioned, but to get a Good grade, the submission will need to clearly summarize at least one key concept/idea that is specific to the article/video. Higher grades (Excellent and Exceptional) are reserved for summaries that outline the more nuanced concepts presented in the article and may require reading between the lines.
CRITICAL THINKING
Your submission will be used to assess your ability to form critical thoughts about the material presented in the article/video. In your second paragraph you should expand upon what you learned. Demonstrate your thought process after having reviewed and understood the article/video. Make accurate and meaningful connections to the materials covered in class, pose questions that arise from your interpretation of the key concepts/ideas presented in the article/video. Making basic observations will provide Adequate grades, while more advanced observations will fare better.
