This is for an interdisciplinary research paper for my capstone. The directions are to write a 20page research paper on a topic that combines two disciplines. For mine, I chose to look at modern-day TV and Film through the Lens of the Gender Dynamics and Sexism of the Biblical and Medieval time periods, specifically the frequent use of age-gap couples where the male is much older than the female. I’m using examples such as House, MD, Grey’s Anatomy, I Love Lucy and WandaVision.
I’m arguing that because straight white males have dominated the entertainment industry, they have created fantasies for themselves where these young beautiful women date and sleep with these much older men in their films and TVs. And how this is a continuation of how in the Bible, Medieval Period, and Mythology, 40year old men who would take wives as young as 12 or 13.
Thesis statement: through the domination of the entertainment industry by straight white men, medieval and biblical relationship dynamics have existed through modern-day TV and film, creating unrealistic and harmful plot lines that have only recently started to be broken down.

1.Final Capstone Research Paper on which the Honors interdisciplinary capstone project is based:
a. Knowledge: the demonstration of familiarity with the appropriate conceptual and theoretical frameworks for the Honors capstone as well as with theoretical understanding and application of interdisciplinarity – 20 points.
b. Analysis: the understanding of the historical context of the conceptual and theoretical frameworks of your Honors capstone project and the application of those frameworks to contemporary concerns in an insightful, critical, and logical manner.
c. Expression: the ability to write in accordance with acceptable grammatical standards, and a demonstrated familiarity with the vocabulary of the disciplines at play in the Honors capstone project. It also represents the ability to orally present your interdisciplinary research project in the semester-long conversation.
d. Interdisciplinarity: the integration of multiple disciplinary insights and/or methods.
