In academia, a journal club is a group of individuals who meet regularly to discuss and critically evaluate research articles within their field.For this project, you will summarize a research article in the field of health psychology, share a summary of the article with your classmates, ask a thought-provoking question for discussion related to the article, and respond to two other students’ discussion questions.The goals for this project are to familiarize yourself with the research process, find a topic within the field of health psychology that interests you, think critically about research findings within the field, and share interesting research findings with your classmates.Please follow the steps below:I. Find a published, peer-reviewed journal article written on a topic within the field of health psychology.II. Make a discussion post and include:A. a citation for the journal article you selected,B. answers the five questions below to summarize the article, andC. a thought-provoking question about the article to stimulate discussion with your peers. You may post this question in video or text format, although video is preferred.III. Respond to two students’ discussion questions. Your response may be in video or text format, although video is preferred.The five questions you are to answer in your article review are below. Please be sure to number your answers.1. Purpose: What is the primary research question in this article? Why are the researchers asking this question? What are the potential benefits to answering this research question?2. Background: Describe other research findings on the subject. Summarize the findings included in the literature review in the introduction of the research article. Which prior research findings may support the researchers’ hypotheses?3. Method: Describe the variables (i.e., independent, dependent, and covariates) included in this study. How did the researchers measure these variables? Summarize the procedure for the study. Who were the participants? How did the researchers group the participants?4. Results: What are the results of this study? What are the implications of these results? In other words, what do these results mean and what do they imply about the target population?5. Discussion: How could this study be improved or expanded upon?
