You will find a case study on any geology topic from a .edu, .gov, or .org website. Imbedded in the case study will be an abstract. This abstract must be submitted for approval into the D2L Abstract folder drop box.
You will take your found case study and extrapolate the scientific method out of it. Put the scientific in an outline form on your word document. It should have subtitles something like these: Introduction/Hypothesis/Tools and Methods/Data/Results/Summary
After you get your outline set-up you can add your title page (without page number), and abstract (copied and pasted from case study without page number) at the beginning of your paper with your reference page at the end.
Go through your study and pull out the questions (hypothesis) from your study and plug those into your outline. Then go through it again and pull out your tools and methods used and put those into your outline. Go through your study and do the same thing with your data and results. After you get your information plugged into your paper put together your introduction and finally your summary.
All of your analysis is doubled-spaced, 12 font. Do not plagiarize by writing your analysis in your own words. You may use 2-3 quotes directly from your study but make sure you single-space and indent them with proper citing.
Your entire paper MUST be cited. Every word in your paper is from someone’s research, therefore not yours.
Put your page numbers on your analysis. Not on the title page, abstract or references.
Put your entire paper in APA formatting.
