In my essay, I want to explore the concept of Spanglish in more detail. Although I have always considered it an informal and illegitimate way of speaking, its growing use in the United States makes it an interesting phenomenon that affects millions of people. Given the size and diversity of the United States, I am interested in exploring how Spanglish varies by region of the country and the speakers of particular nationalities from Latin America who use Spanglish in the United States. In particular, beyond looking at the historical context behind Spanglish, I want to look at specific cases and explore their technical features.
