Your essay should bring together the steps of exegesis as already practiced in Topics 1-4, including background, discourse analysis, lexical study, and theological exegesis. Students will choose from a list of texts in 1 Peter. You may select your own passage if you receive approval from your instructor.

Historical background and introductory issues in 1 Peter
Tracing of the passage
Word study in the passage that is significant for in-depth analysis
Theological exegesis and theological synthesis with similar themes elsewhere in 1 Peter and/or 2 Peter
Include at least seven to eight scholarly sources in your exegesis.
