In this assignment, you will focus on the industry and the company and/or the “product” that your topic is related to.
Before you begin, think about your topic and your research question. Then describe which industry and company and/or product they are related to. For example, if your question is about the changes in television due to streaming services, then your industry is television and your company (depending on your research question) can be Netflix, Hulu, etc.
Once you describe your industry, company and/or product, you need to write about the following:
The inception of the company or the product
How has this company contributed to the industry, how has it changed it, how has it been affected by competitors in the industry, etc.
If your topic is related to a product, then: how has this product contributed to or changed the company identity or the industry? Have competitors introduced similar products?
Has regulation played a part in the development/expansion of the company? In the creation or selling of the product? Have there been attempts to regulate the company or the product? You can address formal (e.g. governmental) or informal (e.g. internal/corporate) regulation
You must use at least two popular sources to support your explanation: newspaper or magazine articles, blog posts, government documents, etc.
