Produce a report critiquing all or part of the project risk process of an organisation that you are familiar with, or a case study. It is important to bring to bear on the subject, current thinking in Project Risk Management.
It is best if you email an outline of your intentions to your tutor, so that the outline is: addressing the right area(s) and of the correct size/scope.
(Typical content would include:
Title page, contents, list of figures / tables (not part of the word-count)
Introduction — Discussion of the key strategic considerations.
Critically evaluate the project environment of your topic within which project risk is managed.
Critical analysis of key risk management theories and methodologies as applied to your topic.
Critical evaluation of project planning and implementation strategies in managing the interdisciplinary nature of project risk and effective project risk management of your topic.
Summary and Conclusion
Reference list, Appendices (if required)
Ensure you include evidence of reading around the subject by discussing / referencing material other than the case study you have selected.
All that you write will be read. However more weight is given to the report than the supporting material in the appendices.
Note: You are directed to choose a topic that considers contemporary risk themes and is compatible with the learning outcomes (listed below). The other major consideration is that you have ready access to the information required, this is particularly important if you are considering using a previous employer as the source of information.)
