The Essay is a case analysis on the Case entitled “Procter and Gamble Goes Dumpster Diving” found in Chapter 5. Please read the case carefully and write a case analysis paper that details your answer to the question. This assignment should be submitted as an academic essay, following Chicago Style or APA guidelines for both mechanics and usage. Please refer to the Purdue OWL Sample Paper if you are unfamiliar with Chicago Style or APA. The paper must be double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 point font, and be 4-5 pages of content with 1″ margins. Answer all questions, using proper grammar, spelling, and organization (introduction, body, and conclusion). Include a title page, parenthetical citations, and a references page, properly formatted using Chicago Style or APA. You do not need to include an abstract. Be sure to define any unique vocabulary you introduce. For all essays, I grade based on organization, use of ethical theories, application to some evidence or facts, mechanics (spelling and grammar), citations (e.g. use of course material and correct referencing), and mention of any counter arguments. The best essay organization is therefore IFIFAS or: 1.) Introduction (2-4 paragraphs): Includes a general topic introduction, a statement of your thesis (″In this paper I will argue that…″), and a roadmap of your essay (″Part one below will explain Kantian business ethics, part two will apply this to the case of LuLaRoe…..″). 2.) Facts (4-6 paragraphs): Explain the factual scenario giving rise to an ethical dilemma or issue. These facts should be about an industry or an organization. What happened? Who are the stakeholders involved? What conflicts arose? 3.) Issue (2-3 paragraphs): State the ethical issue and explain it . 3. ) Framework (2-4 paragraphs): Choose an ethical framework (Virtue Ethics, Kantianism, Utilitarianism, or Care Ethics). Then spend some time explaining it. Where does it come from? What does it mean or entail? What variables does it need filled (e.g. ″cost″ or ″duty″? And why does it apply best in this case? 3.) Application (3-8 paragraphs): Apply the framework to the facts and ethical issue at hand. What would it mean to apply virtue, Kantianism, cost/benefit analysis, or care IN THIS CASE? What are the limitations (e.g. counterarguments) and how do you address them? 4.) Solution (2-4 paragraphs) : Now that you have applied the theory to the facts of the case or problem, what is your solution? This should be an operational statement and explanation (e.g. ″British Petroleum should therefore hire a team of in house environmental compliance specialists….″)
