The Discussion Assignment
Two friends were playing with a ball on the sidewalk next to a street. They were laughing as they pushed and pulled each other, trying to get the ball and keep it away from each other. As they were walking near a bush of roses, the man decided to push the woman into the roses (that were de-thorned). She then got up and started to chase the man down the street. In this hypothetical fact pattern, if she asserts a claim of negligence against the other person, will she prevail in her lawsuit?
Submission and Grading Instructions:
Provide a cogent post that directly but completely addresses the topic. The length of your response is conditional on the questions posed for the discussion topic. Answer fully, but concisely by providing depth and examples to support your points.
Please adhere to the suggested organizational format that has been provided by the professor via email during the first week of the semester.
All submissions must abide by APA version 7 for formatting and style. A good source and reference is the Purdue Owl site (
Respond to at least one classmates’ posts in a college level manner. “Me too” or “I agree or I disagree with you” are NOT examples of an appropriate reply. You will not receive full credit if your reply contains just that type of a response.
The Discussion Posts require both your initial response to the question(s) posed and a reply to a classmate. Please Note: Failure to “reply” to a classmate will subject you to earn, at best, 50% of the points. No late policy applies to failure to respond to a classmate.
See module folder titled “grading rubrics and assessments” if you are curious on how your grade will be determined for the discussion post assignment.

Important Note:
Post your opening response early in the assignment period so that others have time to respond to you. For a top score, you must respond constructively to at least two other students. More extensive participation will be noted. Remember, friends you make now might be great help later on in the course. So, please be thoughtful in your responses.
