choose one group, demographic (age/sex/race/etc.), OR geographic area that has a noticeable patter of voting, and explore why this is occurring. Consider the different types of factors involved in the voter participation for your group or area. Are they cultural, social, economic, political, or some other type of factor? How are these factors related to the larger social structure? Are there laws affecting this group in a different way, or other conditions in which these voters are living that contribute to their voting behaviors? What social institutions, if any, are having an influence on the voting patterns? What effect, if any, do you think the voting differences you describe are having on the type of people being elected? Whose needs will be represented by those elected officials, and whose may not? What are the consequences to the community?
