An article response essay will be a short paper that moves beyond simple understanding of the source and allows you to react to the article and analyze how it addresses its topic. While you should still begin with a brief summary of the article—thesis, evidence, and approach to persuasion—at least half of this paper should be your reaction. Did the author successfully present the evidence needed to argue his or her thesis in a compelling fashion? Choose representative sections of the article to support your point. Your report should be 2–2½ pages long (using 12 pt. font, double-spacing, and no spaces added after paragraphs), and include a works cited page for your article (using the Chicago Style—see Part II in Turabian)
