At the heart of any story is CONFLICT. What is conflict but equal and opposite forces pulling at each other. Specifically, the tension between DESIRES and DANGERSthat is, what a character wants versus obstacles to the realization of those wants.
Write a short scene involving two characters: One of whom wants something from the other. It could be anythinglove, approval, money, information, the car keys, a pet, etc. Your choice. In your scene, include dialogue and description so as to help capture something of the characters in conflict.
