Project Assignment: My System Analysis Final Presentation Overview As future medical professionals you have to really, truly know the anatomy and physiology of the organs. Some of you will become specialists in a particular system. Which system that we have covered in this course is most interesting to you: the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, or nervous system? You are going to become an expert on one of the organs in one of these systems. Then you will provide a presentation for this course that you could give to someone who does not know anything about the organ or the system. The presentation should be professional and demonstrate your expertise. In Module 4 you will propose your system and organ. You should spend approximately 2 hours on planning your project. When your topic is approved, you may start your research. In Module 5 you will conduct the research for your project and prepare the presentation. You should spend approximately 8 hours conducting your research and pulling your project together. Instructions Project Proposal (Module 4) Choose the system that most interests you: integumentary, skeletal, muscular, or nervous system. From this system, choose an organ on which you wish to become an expert. You will present on this system to a (hypothetical) student who is entering BIO 201 and does not know anything about the system. Decide the format of your presentation (e.g., PowerPoint, Prezi, or a presentation software with which you are familiar). Submit your project proposal to the Module 4 Project Assignment: My System Analysis Project Planning assignment folder. Project Presentation (Module 5) Create a presentation on your chosen organ that includes the following: Name of the system Name of the organ Anatomical location: Use directional terms to describe the location such as superior to, inferior to, anterior, etc. Anatomical desсrіption: Include only the anatomical desсrіption; do not include any function or microscopic desсrіption. Types of cells and tissues present in the organ: Just include a microscopic desсrіption; do not include anything else. Functions of the organ: This is to describe the physiology. Do not discuss any anatomical desсrіption. Homeostasis: Discuss how the organ you have chosen responds to maintain homeostasis in the body. Prediction: Predict the types of problems that would occur in this organ if it could not maintain homeostasis. Disease: Mention a specific disease that affects the organ, and describe the anatomical and functional changes that occur in that organ. There is no research paper to do as part of your final presentation (you will still have your Module 5 Research and Report assignment due. At the end of the semester, you will submit your PowerPoint (or other presentation) along with desсrіptive content. The desсrіptive content could be an audio included in the PowerPoint, a video presentation in which you describe your slides, or a supplemental sсrіpt or notes pages for each slide.
