Discussion Forum on Chapter 4, Value and the Quest for the Good
I remind you again that I grade discussion assignments on a Pass/Fail basis. As stated on the syllabus. The only way these discussions can impact your grade is if you fail to participate at all, or do so in an obviously silly way. Each such failure in a discussion will lower your final grade by a full grade. The only requirements for your posts to discussions are that you try to answer the questions and that you be thoughtful and respectful of others.
1. Question #5 under For Further Reflection on page 60: What is the Happiness Machine? If you could, would you choose to live your life in the Happiness Machine? Explain why or why not.
2. Given your answer to that topic, do you think happiness is subjective or objective?
